Networking can feel overwhelming at large startup events, even when everyone is excited about discovering fresh ideas and valuable partnerships. At Startupbootcamp’s recent demo day, Bizdex helped address this challenge by providing a more direct and transparent way for attendees to find the people they were looking for.
During the program, three batches of startups pitched their ideas. After each round, investors, mentors, and other participants used Bizdex to identify and connect with the founders who matched their interests. Using a customized, Startupbootcamp-branded version of the platform, everyone could spell out what they had to offer—whether that was industry expertise, capital, or mentorship—and what they hoped to find, such as certain technologies or partners.
Bizdex’s matching algorithm then suggested the best introductions, making it simpler for people to have purposeful conversations, both at the event and afterward. Startups benefited from increased visibility, ensuring they weren’t overlooked in a crowded room. Investors and mentors found it easier to target their follow-ups, saving time and making sure they got in touch with the right contacts. The tool didn’t just create connections in the moment; it also made it easier to keep those relationships going, allowing attendees to revisit profiles and continue conversations once the event had wrapped up.
While Bizdex already supports year-round engagement, we’re working on ways to make it a more integrated, day-to-day resource. The goal is to help founders, mentors, and investors find each other more naturally, without waiting for the next big event. By making this functionality part of the regular flow of work, we aim to strengthen the ecosystem and open the door to meaningful collaborations that might not have happened otherwise.
